Spirit Weavers Gathering

Spirit Weavers Gathering is a five day celebration of cultures past, a remembering and practicing of basic human skills to ensure the survival of the body and the soul. Fermenting foods, weaving, dying fabrics, creating ceremony, sharing tea, singing songs and making plant medicines as a collective - we gather together as Women and share our skills in remembrance of the beauty path and in honoring of our Ancestors.
UPDATE: We are thrilled to have been connected with ideal land in Southern Oregon. Be sure to stay updated as we develop this space as a center for our experiences and growing community, and welcome our first gathering in 2018.

So many women are awakening and remembering the ways of the natural world and of our ancestors. Many of us have been called into the depths to uncover the roots of who we truly are and explore ways of walking in the world that are in alignment with both our deepest truth and our highest potential. We believe that this remembering comes through our connection with our great planetary Mother. We recognize our symbiotic relationship to the earth, and that it is to our direct benefit that we take good care of her, and more than being connected to her, we seek to understand that we in fact ARE her. We are not separate from her, and small actions on our part have a great impact on her.

We come together each year as women of like mind and heart in the hope that through our participation in this larger community, we may be inspired, empowered, and supported by one another and the by the new skills we exchange. Each class that happens at Spirit Weavers is a gift to ourselves, representing one woman’s giveaway- her gift to our community. We come seeking connection, transformation and activation. We return home with our cups overflowing, carrying forth the seeds of new skills and ideas, planted in the fertile soil of our beings, whose harvest we can then share with our families and home communities throughout the year. Past gatherings have included women from the US, Australia, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile, Canada, Bali, Israel, Netherlands, and Latvia!

In addition to the sharing of skills and tools, we are committed to this path of learning how to support and mentor and share knowledge. This is our giveaway to the ancestors and to the next 7 generations. We can step into our own role as empowered wisdom keepers in training at any age, at any point on our journey, supporting those who came before us, those who follow close behind us, and most importantly the children. These children of the empowered feminine have the earth as their playground. They know reality outside of a computer screen. They are still innocent and take pleasure in learning with nature as their classroom and teacher and constant companion. We desire that Spirit Weavers Gathering be a place where you can always return, to offer and receive love and companionship and tools through all phases of the divine feminine journey, from maiden to mother, from mother to crone and on into the great unknown.

We invite you to join us to help our spirit weavers celebrations expand, to bring your unique vibration to this community co-creation and celebration. By supporting our community and pledging to attend a future gathering, you add your heart medicine to the fountain from which we all can be nourished and filled. Together we both stretch and humble ourselves to become the truth of who we are, a radiant, essential thread in the great weave.  Together we take that step from surviving to thriving. Together we are woven.

Through sharing space with so many who endeavor with great earnesty to find unique solutions to the challenges we all are facing, we are able to more gracefully arrive at a new understanding of what it would look like in our lives to more fully commit to being in right relationship to nature.

After a successful land search, we have connected to beautiful property in Southern Oregon that is an ideal home for our gatherings. We are currently developing this property, and look forward to hosting many events and gatherings!

Each gatherings offer over 100 classes on weaving, basketry, pottery, beading, felting, instrument making, activism, book binding, shoe making, wild foraging, herbalism, natural dying, leatherwork, macrame, painting, women’s wisdom, women’s health, childbirth education, song, yoga, dance, ritual, ceremony and so much more!

We are grateful to have both the sun and moon sessions fill within minutes this year! When we are connected to a piece of land that we can steward we can hold similar types of gatherings more frequently.

Mea is the founding Mother behind the Spirit Weavers Gathering. Her love for nature and earth play began at a very young age. Truly a Daughter of the Sun, she was raised on her family’s farm in Southern California, spending most of her childhood outdoors, camping, connecting with her animals and eating foods from her family’s award winning gardens. Today, Mea is a gatherer, artisan, student of the heart path and a Mother. She is dedicated to giving back to the land making earth offering ceremonies as a way of re-establishing our connection with Mother Earth and all of life everywhere. For over a decade, Mea has been consistently honing her craft studying with elders and teachers expanding her creativity and love for earth based skills throughout her travels. With Choctaw and Cherokee roots of her own, Mea has spent many years diving into her ancestral lineage and understands the importance of honoring those who walked before her in a good way. When the vision for Spirit Weavers came through, Mea received the blessings from her Mentors and those who have walked this path before her, from Founders and Elders of Gatherings such as BackTracks,  Saskatoon Circle, Buckeye Gathering and NCWHS. Mea lives on the island of Kauai with her partner and five year old daughter Naia.

“The Spirit Weavers Gathering is an homage to those Ancestors who lived a life of simplicity and in harmony with the earth.”
